What It Is

Healing Ground is a neutral third-party platform that securely stores audio, video, and written messages from incarcerated parents. Messages are held in custody until a milestone date—such as a child’s 18th birthday—when they are released to the intended recipient.

We serve as a legacy message custodian, not a government agency, and are not affiliated with any correctional facility. Our mission is to preserve human connection through ethical, long-term message stewardship.

How It Works 

1. Download and complete the consent form.
   This form authorizes us to store and eventually deliver your message.

2. Optional: Include your message
   You may sent in a letter, audio recording. Video file/video visit coming soon.

3. Upload your consent form
   Use the form at the bottom of this page.

4. Healing Ground reviews each submission
   Our team will contact you if additional details or clarification are needed.

5. We hold your message securely
   When the identified delivery date or milestone arrives, your message will be released according to the original instructions—pending verification of the intended recipient.

Option 1 — Written Message by Mail (for Incarcerated Parents)

If a parent does not have internet access, they may submit a handwritten message by mail.

📎 Include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) if you would like your original returned.

🔐 Written messages are high level reviewed for emotional safety and stored securely. No content is shared or released without clear authorization and verification of the intended recipient ONLY. 

Option 2 — Upload by Authorized Third Party

Family members, caseworkers, or community advocates may submit a message on behalf of an incarcerated parent or guardian.

To do so:

1. Download and complete the Parent Consent Form

2. Once the form is received and reviewed, email instructions will be sent for uploading the message file
